Yeah, it's funny how true the old addage is of poor performance in school actually being linked to BOREDOM, etc.
I still have a report card from about 3rd grade that said I needed to pay attention in class instead of reading. I used to "hide" an open book on my lap during class and try to read it without getting caught. My dad just laughed. Also, you can give the gun to us. I'm sure Kevin would get a kick out of occasionally taking it to the range.
Actually, I'm not much on revolvers.
Don’t take it to a police department. If you want to get rid of it, take it to a legitimate, well established, licensed dealer – like Estate Firearms or Wade’s in Bellevue – and have them sell it for you. When sold through a licensed dealer, the buyer will be subject to a background check and waiting period and the weapon will be re-registered with the appropriate government agencies. You’ll get some cash out of the deal and you won’t have to worry about it being tied to you if it’s used improperly in the future.
Actually - I tried to get rid of a shotgun once a year ago in Atlanta. I called the police department and they sent a police office out to the house to pick it up.
Unfortunately when the police officer arrived, he said they don't pick up gones and we had to call the dispatcher to confirm he is supposed to do this. However he then recommended against taking the shotgun because they would just melt it down at the station and he thought I could sell it and make some money off of it. He even recommended a gun shop. So I guess - my overall recomendation is to take it to a firearms store and try and sell it there. |
